Esplanade Series 2012 - 2014

In the late 1980s I made a series of paintings at Ballyholme beach in Bangor, County Down.

I remember struggling with the shifting light, the wind and fast-moving clouds, chasing momentary fluctuations, the fleeting, temporary things. Much of this work was unresolved so I returned in the Spring of 2012 in an attempt to come to terms with all this once again.

These images are a reflection on my personal experience on the Esplanade.
